Oxytetracycline hydrochloride, an antibiotic crafted by Streptomyces rimosus, boasts an impressive spectrum of antibacterial action.
When administered intramuscularly, oxytetracycline hydrochloride is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream and swiftly penetrates most body organs and tissues. The peak concentration in the blood is achieved within 30 minutes, maintaining a therapeutic concentration for 10-12 hours and tissues is held for 10-12 hours.
Oxytetracycline is primarily excreted from the body through urine.
DOSAGE:
The drug is administered to animals intramuscularly at intervals of 10-12 hours for 5-7 days in the following doses(according to the active substance):
Calves up to 6 months of ageand lambs up to for animals up to 4 months of age- administer 9mg/kg of body weight;
Piglets up to 6 months of age require12mg/kg of body weight;
Cattle and pigsolderthan6 monthsof ageshould receive7mg/kg of body weight.
Small cattle olderthan 4 monthsrequire 7mg/kg of body weight.
TARGET ANIMALS:
Cattle,Sheep,Goat,Camell.
