Actions and Uses:
It is active against Streptococcus, Pneumococcus, Gonococcus, Meningococcus,susceptible S, aureus and Spirochetes It is indicated for the treatment of infections suchas severe funmcles.abscesses, septicaemia, septic meningitis, pneumonia, gonorrhoeaand syphilis.
Administration and Dosage:
3-5 ml of water for injection is added into the vial before use. It is given by I.M or
I.V, (by intermittent infusion) according to the severity and type of infections
For I.M. Adults, 240mg-480mg(400,000 i n.'800,000 i u.) each time, 2-4 times a day,
For I V, Adults, 960mg-2,4g (l,600,000i.u--4,000,000 i.u.) each time,3-4 limes a day
In the treating of meningitis and endocarditis, the recommended daily dose is 6g-l 2g
(10,000,000i.u.-20,000,000 i.u.) per day by intermittent infusion after dilution.
Children, 15mg-30mg (25,000i.u. - 50,000 i vl) /kg daily divided into 2-4 doses.
