Benzylpenicillin benzathine is indicated for the treatment and prophylaxis of various infections in adults, adolescents, children, and neonates.
The dosing recommendations depend on the severity and type of infection, patient age, and hepato-renal function. The injection is strictly for intramuscular use.
Do not use if there is hypersensitivity to penicillins or any excipients, or history of severe immediate hypersensitivity reactions to other beta-lactam agents.
Avoid concomitant use with bacteriostatic antibiotics. Use caution when co-administering with probenecid, methotrexate, or anticoagulants.
Store below 25°C. Use immediately after reconstitution.
